Love this 5% framework — simple and generous. I’m in, starting today.

• Love - write a heartfelt thank-you to the family member whose selflessness is making this visit run smoothly

• Community - invite an elderly friend to join a birthday lunch

• Good Life - talk about what’s coming up next year and outline our slow-travel options

• Work - take a real break today since we just landed and I’m zonked

Tiny steps, real momentum. Thanks for the nudge.

I'm so happy to see how setting small goals together keeps us all motivated — and at the same time reminds us to value and be grateful for the little things that shape our journey. Thank you for sharing! See you in the chat next Friday to check in on the next 5%!

I think today I will focus on cleaning and organizing my creative space. I just moved to a new apartment so it’s chaotic. 🌼

Love this, Emanuela! I call them tiny, sacred action steps. My 5% are: reaching out to a newish friend for a coffee date and designing the graphics to market my writing retreat in Oaxaca.

I love this idea! Mine for today:

+5% - chat with neighbor (instead of pretending I don't see them when they pass the house when walking the dog 😅), community

It really helps to break things down into smaller pieces especially when looking at a goal as large as “live abroad.” Going in there was so much I didn’t know I didn’t know and then there’s the ways in which a new society changes your perspective. Intentionally giving yourself small steps is the way to build momentum!

Building momentum — that’s exactly the point!

Not just waiting for things to figure themselves out in a direction that might not match what you truly want. It’s about creating momentum, yes — but steering it where you want to go.

I can’t wait to see your 5%, Gillian!

We get used to big change but, as the US Air Force learned the hard way, you can’t turn an aircraft carrier on a dime or the planes all slide off. A few degrees at a time, even the most massive ships can change course gracefully!
