Good question, Maria! Actually, yes, he was aware of his uniqueness. However, he was stuck in unconscious bias and lacked representation around him. I guess this is one of those difficult conversations that drive progress on the topic 🙏

Gosh, that conversation must have been exhausting! I'm always torn between educating people and simply letting them hold onto their beliefs. Also, women often carry too much of the burden of educating others, and over time, I’ve learned that we don’t have to—especially when it comes at the expense of our mental health.
That being said, this was such a great collection of stats and interesting anecdotes! I also see diversity as somewhat inevitable. All societies will experience it to some degree (and have in the past, as populations have mixed for centuries). The sooner we accept this and work toward solutions, the better!
