Fellow multipod here! And I love the connection you made between being a multipassionate individual and traveling/living abroad! They are definitely inter-connected!
Hi Negar, what a nice definition refugee explorer 🤩. ADHD can be a powerful driver of curiosity and exploration, offering unique strengths alongside its challenges. What’s your perspective?
This was such a unique perspective, Emanuela. I really enjoyed reading about how you've approached your own mindset and have gone easy on yourself and really listened to your body when it's telling you it's time to stop and do something different. And you're so right, living abroad lends itself to the same kind of lifestyle.
That's me to a T. Just like you, I chose to study physics after attending a classic high school in which the main subjects were Latin, Greek, and Philosophy. Now I teach Italian, English, and German for a living. I love to be an octopus!
The world definitely likes to try to tell people it is one or the other, to fit into one box…I always feel like one of those crustaceans that outgrows one shell and moves into another. It’s not about shrinking to stay in one container, it’s about recognizing when it is time for a new one!
You know hermit crabs also line up and trade shells, sort of like the community you're building. Describing our old boxes and inviting others to step into them as we move through to another, all growing together!

Always drawn to the novelty, the more distant and unfamiliar, the better 😉
Octopus mind weaves,
Colors shift with life's embrace,
Depth in every touch.
I guess you are right. I am a refugee explorer … sounds better than an adult with ADHD 🤗
I hear you...been there done that.
I love encouragement in our community !

Guilty! That's what makes us travel for sure :)
Funny, isn’t it? When we connect our multipotentiality with our craving for travel and discovery, everything suddenly makes sense!
Oh. My. God. My whole life? You mean… I’m an explorer? *sound of head thunking on desk* This explains EVERYTHING.
Ehhe I know the sound of that sudden realization😅

When you are drawn to novelty , that applies to all aspects of your life !
You are describing me, even if you don't know me... it feels weird 🤣
"Comfort in the “in-between”" >>> OMG this one, no one gets it around me!
Love this, thank you Emanuela for putting into (beautiful) words how I feel!
I’m glad I was able to put into words what you had been feeling.
Feeling seen and legitimate is essential when you're trying to thrive outside the box!
I feel this, Emanuela - I've dedicated my life to change; living in different countries, learning languages and consulting in Change Management.
Lisa! change management is calling me as well — it might just be my next field to explore!

Wonderful Federica! You are the perfect exemple of an " Esprit Renaissance"!

Gillian what a wonderful metaphor! It describes perfectly how I feel as well! It's why I created this space, for everyone who doesn't fit in a box!

I love this concept! I will explore it further 🤗
This resonates with me on so many levels and I really hope we get to cross path in real life.
I'm a few years ahead, doing the job of 10 people, explored coaching already and stiill looking.
I hope also that our path will cross in real life, we have so much in common 🙏 this is the beauty of substack ❤️
Oh.my.god. I could have written this myself! Finally, someone who can explain it and it making sense. Thank you for writing this
I feel so grateful to have found the words who resonated with you 🙏. I know how reconforting is to feel seen!
